Ignorit
Ignorit allows communities to automatically ignore reports submitted by users on posts and comments older than a specified age. It provides an option to automatically approve content that has been reported past the cutoff, eliminating mod queue clutter and archiving historic drama.
Usage
Ignorit automatically triggers the moment a report is submitted. Just set your hourly thresholds in the app settings, and it will handle the rest without daily intervention.
⚠️ The Moderator Reporting Loophole (Read Before Use)
There is a technical limitation on Reddit's developer platform (Devvit) that prevents apps from knowing whether an incoming report was submitted by a regular user or a subreddit moderator.
Because Ignorit is built to auto-clean old content, if a moderator reports an active post or comment that is past your hourly cutoff, Ignorit will treat it like a user report and auto-approve it over your head.
The Workflow Fix: If you need to flag or document an old item without the app overriding you, remove the content first, then submit your report. Ignorit actively checks live moderation states and will never touch or re-approve an item that a moderator or AutoMod has already taken down.
Mod-First Safety Rails
We designed this update specifically to ensure an automated tool never steps on a human moderator's toes:
- The Removal Lock: If a human mod, AutoMod, or Reddit Admin takes an item down, Ignorit completely backs off. No accidental re-approvals, ever.
- Pure Community Counts: The app completely ignores system-generated flags and AutoMod reports when calculating your threshold limits, tracking only actual user sentiment.
What’s New in v2.0
- Total Queue Control: Choose to enable auto-ignoring for posts only, comments only, or go all-in on both.
- Separate Clocks: Posts and comments move at different speeds. You can now set entirely independent hourly cutoffs for both.
- The "Hard Pass" List: Select critical report types (like Harassment, Hate Speech, or Self-Harm) that should never be auto-approved, no matter how old the thread is. Some things always need human eyes.
- The "Viral Thread" Valve: Set an optional max report threshold. If an old post suddenly gets hit with a massive wave of user reports, the app steps aside so your team can investigate.
- Removed the "Remove from Mod Queue" Toggle: This is now the default behavior to keep your workspace clean.
- Under-the-Hood Overhaul: Completely rebuilt from scratch on an ultra-fast, asynchronous pipeline. It uses significantly fewer API calls, keeping your sub fast and well within platform rate limits.
Older Versions
- v1.0 — Codebase cleanup, fixed a legacy bug that accidentally re-approved admin-removed submissions, and introduced basic experimental thresholds.
- v0.21 — Initial release tracking basic post age thresholds.
