Binance pauses withdrawals on multiple networks amid suspicious crypto transfers

On Oct. 29, Binance was investigating a potential security issue and had temporarily suspended withdrawals on multiple networks, TechCrunch reported. Unchained counted about $3.52 billion arriving at one address on Ethereum between 4:24 and 5:04 p.m. ET. Binance said user funds were safe, but had not called the outflows a hack. Tether reported freezing over 1.567 billion USDT; Circle reported freezing over 800 million USDC. The transfer count is not a confirmed theft total.
