Exclude mourning/ loss posts

This button will show you a feed excluding mourning/ loss posts. This does not work on Apple devices!

Exclude mourning posts

Manually exclude flairs

If you are on the app then the button for filtering flairs from your feed may not work.

If you navigate to the search function in r/cats you can manually exclude specific filters like so:

-flair_text:"loss"

This will exclude "mourning/ loss" posts from your feed.

If you want to exclude more than one flair type then you can add a second query after the first like so:

-flair_text:"loss" -flair_text:"medical"

Where each new query is added after a space.

The default sorting option is "relevant". You can manually alter that to "new" or "hot" should that be your preferred sort.

No repost spam or recent/viral reposts.

No low-effort content such as memes or AI-generated or AI-altered images.

No advertising, self-promotion, or fundraising of any kind.

No False OC or Content Theft

Do not post someone else's cat and claim it as your own. It will result in a permanent ban.

Source must be provided for Not OC content whenever possible.

Use Correct Flair & Follow Post Guidelines

Use the appropriate flair for your post.

Use OC for your own content and Not OC when sharing others’ content.

Some posts (such as "Name my cat") require owner verification.

Disallowed Topics

Posts asking about your cat’s breed or gender are not allowed.

Political or politically charged content is not allowed.

Do not share personal or identifying information or engage in doxxing.

'Name my cat/kitten' posts are allowed, but require the correct flair + verification to ensure OC.

You must set the flair of your post to 'Name Request' at the time of submission, failing to do so is in breach of this rule.

Please submit your post before sending us a modmail - your submission will trigger an automated message which will contain the instructions required for your post to be approved.

Your verification message will be left unanswered if you send us a modmail before you have submitted your post for us to review.

Moderator Discretion

Moderators may remove content or issue bans at their discretion if it negatively impacts the community.
