So, I had an event recently with a person and it left me feeling bad for them personally. Not as a person (cause they were a dick), but more emotionally, but not as an employee. Let me explain.
A customer came to do an in-store warranty exchange, claiming their phone wasnt charging (which it was, their charger was broken). She was so sure, and refused to accept it was anything other than the phone, even though we tried to explain. She wasnt having it. We started to begin a transfer, asking what she needed move over...
"I am in a rush. Just my contacts"
We ask and reiterate, trying to verify, and again, not having it. We help transfer, JUST HER CONTACTS. She takes the phone, we asked to make sure the contacts are on there, she does and we tell her that we're about to erase the phone. Is she sure? She said yes, and basically was left.
6 hours later.
She calls up, "I did an exchange, but none of my pictures are on the new phone."
We inform her, they dont transfer naturally, we needed to select it, and we told you, "you told us, just your contacts, so we erased it."
This woman, now in hysterics, " those are the only pictures I had of family members who died!" Going off basically. We apologized, but obviously nothing we could do, (we asked if she clould backed up her stuff, which she didnt). She was basically saying we deleted her photos and dont have a heart, etc, that stuff.
I felt bad personally, because I can fully understand the way she felt, but basically the salesperson I don't feel any guilt. She was impatient and made a bad decision.
Just on my mind. Anyone else have a similar story?
