We fought for years to rebuild Medicare. The result: record funding, a $30,000 sign-on bonus for GP registrars, paid parental leave, and hundreds of new training positions.
We lobbied health ministers directly on racism in healthcare. Ministers then directed Ahpra and National Boards to overhaul how racism is reported and addressed.
We secured a major boost to public hospital funding for 2025–26, followed by a new National Health Reform Agreement in early 2026, following sustained advocacy from the AMA.
