The Hamilton Grange Branch of the New York Public Library is a historic library building located in Hamilton Heights, Manhattan, New York City. The branch opened on January 8, 1907. Its name derives from The Grange, the nearby country home built by Alexander Hamilton in 1802.[3]

It was designed by McKim, Mead & White and built in 1905–1906. The branch was one of 65 built by the New York Public Library with funds provided by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, 11 of them designed by McKim, Mead & White. The three-story building was designed in an Italian Renaissance style modeled on a Florentine palazzo. Its facade is faced in rusticated stone and arranged symmetrically around a central entrance, with round-arched openings on the first floor and pedimented windows above. The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission described it as an example of McKim, Mead & White's adaptation of Italian Renaissance architecture to a small public building.[4] The exterior also features bronze lamps and grilles.[5]

Most of the building's interior was renovated in 1975.[6] Later accessibility alterations included changes to the entrance, and in 2022 the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved replacement of the non-historic entrance doors and transom while retaining historic cast-iron cresting.[7]
