Just a note for the future

"Moving" the page, instead of creating a new one with the same content and then redirecting the old one would've preserved the edit history. --Czj 21:15, 24 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Summary and synthesis of the speech

[edit]

As it stands, a lot of this article fails the WP:SYNTH smell test to me. Many sections read like a student essay summarising the speech, especially the large "topics" section and its various subsections. In particular, the only sources provided are a transcript and recording of the address - if such a summary is to be included, it should be referencing how reliable sources chose to summarise the address. Compare e.g. the 2014 State of the Union Address page, which also includes a topics summary but links coverage by external journalists rather than the speech itself.
