RE4 Remake is one of the best Switch 2 games of the year, but it originally came out in 2023 so it feels like cheating. As such, I'll stick with Requiem, which is looking highly likely to keep its spot now that there's not too many more games this year I'm still interested in. (Ocarina once again feels a bit like cheating)

Updated to this point! Thanks for these great new suggestions!

Although, it stresses the hell out of me, because I realize how far behind I am :P

Another contender for me - Queen's Domain

Just like with Esoteric Ebb I've nominated back in March, which goes after "Disco Elysium meets D&D" fans, this one is also quite niche (thus it will be hardly considered for actual awards), and goes into emerging Field-like genre (games that are trying to evoke and continue King's Field legacy), and this one is pretty much stellar in having that old school vibes and aesthetics, augmented with some of modern enhancements.

I really want to try this one. I'm just juggling too many games at the moment. Hopefully I can make it happen later this year.

Have I said Gears of War E-Day yet? I nominate it.

I know the feeling, with backlog getting bigger with each passing day.

There's demo of it, this is how I came across it on one of Steam Next Fest's last year, and I was instantly hooked (it's pretty much first level of the game, IIRC). If you decide to play it, it will take you about 1-2 hours, depending of your pacing in similar games.

My wish :

- Resident Evil Requiem

- The Blood of Dawnwalker

- Phantom Blade Zero

- GTA VI

- Zelda OOT

- Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave

Mina the hollower? Does it deserve a spot?
