This page is for requests to have stewards grant or revoke administrator, bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights on Wikimedia projects which do not have a local permissions procedure. Minimum voting requirements are listed here.

Old sections are archived. The list of archives is below.

  • Requests for bot flags are handled at SRB, and requests for global permissions are handled at SRGP.
  • If you are requesting adminship or bureaucratship, and your wiki has a local bureaucrat, submit your request to that user or to the relevant local request page (index).
  • For urgent requests, such as to combat large-scale vandalism on a small wiki, contact a steward in the #wikimedia-stewardsconnect IRC channel. In emergencies, type !steward in the channel to get the attention of stewards. Otherwise, you can type @steward for non-urgent help.
  • All processed requests are automatically archived after 24 hours of no activity. Use {{PinSRP}} on a request section to prevent it from being archived, or {{ArchiveNowSRP}} to archive a request section as soon as possible.

Other than requests to remove your own access or emergencies, please only make requests here after gaining the on-wiki approval of your local community.

2. Fill in the values:

  • domain: the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
  • user name: the name of the user whose rights are to be changed (like "Exampleuser"). In case this is for multiple users, leave this field blank and give a list of these users in your remarks.
  • discussion: a link to the local vote or discussion about the rights change (for example, "[[ex:Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#ExampleUser]]"). This should normally be for at least one week, but no more than three weeks (if so, you'll need to restart the process).

3. If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.

Confirmation of signing confidentiality agreement

Certain permissions (notably CheckUser and Oversight) additionally require users to sign a confidentiality agreement. Users requesting these permissions must make a request below, and must also sign the confidentiality agreement with the Wikimedia Foundation. The request is placed on hold temporarily, until the receipt has been formally confirmed by the Office.

こんにちは。私は、ウィキバーシティ日本語版（Ja.wikiversity）の利用者です。ウィキバーシティ日本語版は現在、権限のある管理者がいずれもアクティブなユーザーではなく、突然の荒らし対応やその他の管理行為が不可能な状況です。また、ウィキバーシティ日本語版は、アクティブなユーザーが数名だけであり、そのうち最もアクティブなユーザーは私なのですが、必要な管理行為を臨時で担うために、ウィキバーシティ日本語版を管理するために、2年間（2year）、管理者権限の許可を頂ければ幸いです。ローカルの選挙は、アクティブなユーザーが極めて少ないため、実施することができない状況にあります。--Molgen3966 (talk) 16:33, 5 July 2026 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that there was another RfA (v:ja:Wikiversity:用務員/立候補/Molgen3966_20260628) three days before the one linked above, but in both of them the requester was considered ineligible to stand for election in the first place. Dragoniez (talk) 17:45, 5 July 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, the concerns raised on RfA regarding the candidates’ experience have not been fully discussed. Therefore, this request does not currently meet MVR. また、付言として確認したいのですが、1つ前の2026年6月28日にウィキバーシティ日本語版の管理者に私が立候補した選挙において、当該選挙の審議終了が宣言された理由が「立候補者に立候補資格がなかったから」とされていますが、それは審議終了を宣言したUser:Shokupan氏が、まだ草案の状態であるローカル文書を適用した「錯誤」または「誤認」であったという事実があることから、そのような理由による審議終了の宣言は無効であり、MetaWikiのガイドラインに基づいて、1週間後の2026年7月5日に審議が終了したものとみなすことが適切だと考えております。

The critical backlog of promotional articles and cross-wiki spam remains unreviewed. Therefore, I kindly request temporary sysop rights to clean up the wiki. info: there was a well-founded opposing response in the discussion, the user tried to hide this by deleting that comment: [2]. I am already permanent administrator of isvwiki, and below I also filed a request for (temporary) importing rights. For the record, I have 2FA enabled. Done After some discussion I'm going ahead with the grant. While the wiki technically wouldn't meet MVR, I think the vote shows that the participants are users involved in the project, and that there is a sufficient community to monitor local bureaucrat actions. Greetings! As of today, I am admin of isvwiki.[3] What I didn't immediately realize, however, is that I need additional "importUpload" rights in order to transfer pages and especially page histories from our pre-Incubator wiki at Miraheze,[4] which has been in existence since 2007. After the test wiki in the Incubator was created, several people started copying pages from Miraheze manually, without their pages histories, which obviously was done with the best of intentions but violates copyright nevertheless. To prevent that from happening, I initially asked for a possibility to have the Miraheze files imported into the Incubator, but was advised to wait with the merger until isvwiki would get its own subdomain instead (here) – which is now the case. So, what I am asking for is "importUpload" rights for a short period, I think one month will do. Once it's done, we can finally close the wiki at Miraheze. The license has been the same as Wikipedia's from the very beginning. That was the case in all wikis we used before Interslavic received its ISO 639-3 code, because the idea was that it one day it might evolve into a "real" Wikipedia, which is now the case indeed. The same thing was done for Kotava, Lingua Franca Nova and Toki Pona. I believe it's all written here, but don't ask me about copyrights. I am a linguist, not a lawyer. Removal of access

  • If you're requesting the removal of your own permissions, make sure you're logged in to your account. If you have multiple flags, specify which you want removed. Stewards may delay your request a short time to ensure you have time to rethink your request (see previous discussion on 24 hour delays); the rights will not be restored by stewards once they are removed.
  • To request the removal of another user's permissions, you must gain consensus on the local wiki first. When there is community consensus that the user's access should be removed, provide a link to the discussion, with a brief explanation of the reason for the request, and summarize the results of discussion. However, as bureaucrats of some wikis may remove users from the administrator or bureaucrat group, please see also a separate list of these specific wikis.
  • To request the removal of another user's permissions for inactivity, link to your local inactivity policy. If your site does not have inactivity policy, the global policy Admin activity review applies.
  • See the instructions above for adding new requests. Please post new requests at the bottom of the section.

Is there a local prodecure for revoking admin rights, and is this the correct venue (rather than a request at tr:Vikipedi:Hizmetlilik başvurusu)? The participation in the request seems to be quite low. EPIC (talk) 12:28, 26 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
there's supposed to be a local procedure but the structure and execution of procedures is something that's overall spotty in the tr.wiki, not helped by the fact that admin recall's by the community are exceedingly rare (which had happened only once so far.) i believe that's the correct venue as hizmetlilik başvurusu is the place to elect new admins. ~2026-37942-69 (talk) 18:23, 2 July 2026 (UTC)[reply]
