ENigmatic Recollection is a multimedia project featuring the English branch of hololive. The project primarily takes place in a Minecraft roleplay server. The project was unveiled on August 23, 2024. The project involves all four then-current generations of hololive English — Myth, Promise, Advent, and Justice.

One fateful day, the talents of hololive English find themselves in the magical world of Libestal with no memory of how they got there or even their past. All the while, Libestal is threatened by mysterious creatures known as Stains. Upon regaining a part of their powers, they are heralded as Libestal's heroes and set to work on defending it from the Stain while trying to recover their memories. However, it soon becomes clear that their journey is not as simple as it seems and that there's far more at stake than they thought.

The first chapter was streamed throughout the week of August 31, 2024. The second chapter, titled The Chains of Fate, was streamed throughout the week of May 5, 2025. The third chapter, Broken Bonds, was streamed throughout the week of May 24, 2026.

ENigmatic Recollection provides examples of:

• Adaptation Expansion: The memories regained at the end of each dungeon further explores the lore of the hololive English talents, which, outside of their introductions, are usually downplayed.
• Alternate Universe: It is stated by the talents that the characters and memories should not be taken seriously as part of their present lore, but rather alternate versions of them.
• Amnesiac Dissonance: There's quite a few examples of this happening.
  • The normally kind and mild-mannered Fauna becomes a greedy merchant who runs a borderline-predatory lottery.
  • In the absence of someone like Fuwawa to rein her in, Mococo quickly becomes a boisterous, anxiety-riddled gambling addict constantly scrounging for money.
  • Gigi is typically a loud, hot-headed chatterbox, but "Sir Gonathon G" is a dramatic but pure-hearted Knight in Shining Armor who cares deeply about "his" loved ones, almost to the point of posessiveness.
• Amnesiac Hero: In the beginning, none of the heroes remember who they are, and some don't even remember their own names. Each dungeon holds one hero's memory, allowing that specific hero to relearn their past. Many of them lose their memories again at the start of Chapter 2, although most retain a vague sense of certain things from the previous chapter.
• Back-to-Back Badasses: In the Trailer video, Elizabeth and Cecilia can be seen standing by each other's back as they face Stains from opposite directions.
• "Back to Camera" Pose: Among the nineteen members featured in the official poster, only Elizabeth (in the center) has her back turned while she's facing the viewer.
• Badass Cape: After defeating the Stain King, the girls all gain white capes to denote themselves as Libestal's chosen heroes. These capes appear on both their Minecraft avatars as well as their Live2D models.
• Camp: The story runs on deliberately silly plot points being met with hammy but deadly-serious reactions. It's effectively a parody, but with so much commitment to the bit and flamboyant style that it wraps back around to being dramatic. Also, nobody is straight.
• Cast Full of Gay: Being a roleplay series with an all-female cast playing all-female characters (bar Gigi as Gonathon, and even that's up in the air somewhat), this is to be expected; everyone is either swooning for each other or uninterested in romance, with seemingly no in-between.
• Cerebus Syndrome: The early parts of Chapter 1 are almost completely silly. Then things get unexpectedly dark in the last few days with plotlines like a confused Mococo being mind controlled by the Stains and Jyonathan losing her memories. The later chapters are more proper Dramedies full of Angst and tragic character arcs.
• Death Is a Slap on the Wrist: Given that it's a Minecraft roleplay, the heroes usually just respawn after death without even losing their inventory. Occasionally the meaningless deaths get taken completely seriously, such as Gonathon's grim report that Mococo died evading justice. Possibly Justified by the fact that Calliope Mori stopped reaping human souls even before she got amnesia, and it's ambiguous whether the other reapers are even still alive after she beat them up.
• Does This Remind You of Anything?: There is no sex in Libestal, but this doesn't keep heroes from doing all kinds of suggestive things with their partners. This includes trading seeds for eggs, "pickle fights," holding hands and using their Revelations to represent ejaculating. Ironically, this involves a lot of phallic imagery despite the fact that none of the cast have the required anatomy.
• Easter Egg: In addition to the main path, the dungeons have a secret path found that must be accessed through one of the puzzles to reach a special chest. This chest contains a record of the talent's first original song, which can be played in a jukebox in town.
• Gender Bender: Gonathon/Gigi is a strange example — Gonathon seemingly identifies as male and uses masculine pronouns, but looks almost identical to regular Gigi, who's pretty clearly a girl in both mind and body.
• Hearing Voices: Each hololive member refers to their own livestream chat as the "voices in their head". Hilarity ensues when some of them bring up this topic in the prologue and realize that they're not the only ones hearing strange voices.
• Insistent Terminology: The heroes often insist on describing everything with fantasy-themed jargon, and will get pointedly confused when someone uses a term that doesn't fit. This includes substituting anachronistic terms such as "movies" and "anime," but also exaggerations like referring to "minutes" as "candle-melts."
• Prayer Pose: In the lower left of the official poster, Bijou is seen clasping her hands.
• Pun-Based Title: ENigmatic Recollection is written with an uppercase EN to reference the English hololive branch which this project revolves around.
• Secret Art: During the fight with the Stain King, the girls regain a portion of their power in the form of their signature weapon or item, which can be summoned by chanting "Revelation". This takes the form of a character-specific skill that runs on a cooldown. The skill becomes stronger after completing a dungeon and regaining part of their memories. In Chapter 2, characters who take the Smith class can upgrade the Revelation weapons.
• Stealth Pun: The preview image for the "ENigmatic Recollection" Libestal Cloak-Style Blanket in the hololive official shop features Ninomae Ina'nis with a speech bubble saying "In a matching style!" The joke here is Ina saying "In a".
• Suicide as Comedy: The series features a significant number of suicides, which are almost all Played for Laughs. Part of this is because nobody stays dead, although this just leads to Black Comedy about heroes repeatedly trying to kill themselves and getting frustrated when it never takes.
• Trapped in Another World: Nineteen girls are summoned by a ritual of King Libestal in order to combat the Calamity that threatens this world. Some of them even lampshade or compare this situation to an "Isekai".
• True Companions: Tam Gandr and her knights manage to remain loyal to each other even through several rounds of amnesia. Even Tam Gandr's refusal of the crown in Chapter 3 isn't enough to break them apart, although Lady Bloodflame does defect to Advent.
• Welcome to Corneria: The NPCs usually only have a single line of dialogue every time the heroes talk to them, at least at a specific point in the story. This doesn't stop the heroes from trying to have deep conversations with them anyway, such as the various heroes trying to strip the King of his authority in Chapter 1 and Cecilia trying to flirt with Princess Iphania in Chapter 2. In both cases, the heroes either decipher secret meanings hidden in their extremely limited, completely unrelated lines or grow frustrated in their lack of response.
