About ILS Libraries

The Washington State Library (WSL) partners with the Department of Corrections (DOC), the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), and the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) to provide library services to individuals in adult correctional facilities, patients in adult psychiatric hospitals, and residents in a juvenile correction center.

Mission Statement

With spirit and fortitude, ILS branch staff enhances the quality of life for unique populations by providing a welcoming place where informational, educational, and recreational needs are met.
