Assistant for tables

A table is an arrangement of columns and rows that organizes and positions data.
Tables can be created on Wikipedia pages using special wikitext syntax, and many
different styles and tricks can be used to customize them. Consider using a multi-
column list when appropriate.

To create tables using this assistant you do not need to know the sintax. Just enter the
table data and the assistant will generate the wikicode to produce tables with the
typical appearance of tables in Wikipedia. The default features of the tables you can
produce with this assistant are the following:

  • Table position in the page
  • Table caption (title)
  • Table headings
  • Full control of columns width (in pixel)
  • Vertical alignment within cells
  • Editor of cell content
  • 10 columns (maximum limit)
  • 50 rows (maximum limit)

Table attributes

The first tab of the assistant window enables you to edit table caption (title) and to select:

  • Type of headings (column/row/none)
  • Table position (right/left/center/none)
  • Vertical alignment within cells (top/center)
  • Whether the assistant will determine column widths or not.
  • Whether or not the table will occupy the whole page width, while column widths will be determined by their content, and not by the assistant.

Cell content

The second tab of the assistant window enables to create the structure and content of the table:

  • Add/Modify/Delete columns
  • Add/Modify/Delete rows
  • Fix column widths (in pixels)
  • Edit every cell content
  • Build table code

Built wiki code

The third tab contains the wiki code built by the assistant. You still can make some minor editions in the code if necessary.

The code can be sent to the edit window after clicking the button «Send to the edit window«. The assistant window closes and the code appears in the edit window.
