Pawns or Power Brokers? Gulf States Again Seek to Sway U.S.-Iran War

Nearly three years of a demanding war were supposed to lead to legislation that would give special recognition to members of the armed forces. Instead, the government is pushing a bill for a Basic Law that would establish "Torah study as a fundamental value in the heritage of the Jewish people and the State of Israel." Thus, it will give special treatment to the people who dodge the draft and disparage those who serve in the military.
