Mina de Barruecopardo
A tungsten mine, started in 1910.
Scheelite-bearing veins and stockworks in greisenized granite.
The orebody includes vertical scheelite-bearing veins from 0.5 cm to 0.5 m in width, hosted by the two micas Barruecopardo granite. Several mineralising stages have been distinguished and at least one of them generated Au mineralisation in the veins. The main W deposition stage is dominated by scheelite, with increasing grades toward the granite center, while scarce reinite (pseudomorph of ferberite after scheelite) occurs in the veins located near the contact of the Barruecopardo granite with the metapelitic rocks.
Mine covers an area of some 6.052km2 and operated by Saloro S.L.U and its parent company EQ Resources Ltd (2024).
