No advertisement/selfpromo

Advertisement posts will be removed. Self-promotion posts (promotion of youtube, twitch channels etc.) will be removed. If the account created for only this purpose, then it will be permanently banned.

If you post an IQ test with any identifiable test name on it, we will treat it as advertisement.

Keep reposting to a minimum

Please check the Hot and New pages before crossposting or reposting a meme from another subreddit so the sub isn't filled with duplicate posts. Chainposting is not allowed. Also see the subreddit wiki for the Classic Reposts that we have seen too many times over the years. Repost/karma farming bots will be permanently banned.

No bad roleplay accounts

That way we can brick the unfunny ones and keep the good.

Posts must be related to Chess

Posts must be obviously and primarily related to Chess, or related to something closely related to Chess (e.g. Magnus Carlsen). Inside jokes that mutate too much will die. Adding a chess piece to an otherwise unrelated post does not count.

Daily posts must be original and/or high-effort and cannot go indefinitely

If you want to do the 37th iteration of "top comment decides the next move" or some other overdone trend, go to a different subreddit or some other website entirely. Daily series done with physical materials will be given more leniency. If you make it 10 days without the mods noticing, you have a free pass to keep going.

No selfies

We can't moderate everyone's age and don't want the subreddit banned because a minor posted something stupid. Even selfies of obvious adults are banned because selfies encourage more selfies.

No generative AI

The mod team is thinking through how to handle the new technological developments. For now, any video shorter than 10 seconds must be linked to an official source. Violators will be banished to r/AInarchyChess

No intolerance

If you work to make this subreddit a shit place to be for any group of people, you will be captured en passant.

Just because it pops up enough, no, you don't get to post a swastika or something like that because it's how the horse moves or something. If there is a swastika or other hate symbol, it will be removed. Even if you don't interpret it as such, when a Nazi sees posts like that, it makes them think they're welcome here and we want to make absolutely clear they are not.

No brigading

If you invade other subreddits or encourage other users to do so, you will be banned.

No pornography

This is not the place to post your chess rule 34 content. Go take it elsewhere. However, suggestive/mild NSFW posts are allowed as long as you tag them NSFW.
