No advertising, self promotion or spam

Any of the above will be removed instantly and you will be warned or banned depending on the severity. This includes selling used gear as well.

All submissions must be related to fishing gear

Goes without saying: No unrelated posts.

No fish pictures or fishing videos (This includes Fish pictures with your gear)

Keep the posts about fishing gear strictly. This is not a place to show off your fish, rather, show off your gear.

We may remove your post if it’s a picture including a fish, if we judge it’s not about the gear, but the catch.

When posting gear pictures, list the items shown in the comment section

A general guideline for people to know what gear you use.

Be respectful to one another

Goes without saying: Be nice and don’t get into unecessary arguments.

Provide adequate information

When asking for recommendations, always provide as much information as possible for people to be able to help you easier.

Information such as target species, what you plan to use the gear for/with and budget are key pieces of information.

If you don’t provide enough information, we may remove your post.

No drama posts

No posts with the main purpose of stirring up drama.

Avoid graphic posts

Please provide caution when it comes to pictured with hooks in your hands or other fishing related injuries. At the very least, put a NSFW filter on it.

Don’t share personal information in here

Phone number, private email or where (exactly) you live goes under this rule. Be safe online!!

Posts in english only

Since english is the language or second language most people on Reddit speak, we beg of you to only post posts* in english. Otherwise, it will be hard for others to help you, and us mods can’t guarantee we speak the language, so we cannot moderate your post.

*Posts meaning actual posts, not comments under posts. If someone helps you in your own language under the post, that’s fine.

Market research/advice of products

We don’t allow self promotion. We do, however, allow people seeking advice and criticism for a product/app you’re making. The clause is as follows:

Don’t link anything in your post or say you can link something. No ”if you’re interested, let me know.” No naming the product. That’s invasive.

Just describe your product and if people are interested, they will ask for a link or look it up themselves. Make them go out of their way and decide if they want the product, rather than promote it to them.
