Rec Room Code of Conduct

The Rec Room Code of Conduct applies to our public forums.

Briefly: Be excellent to each other, avoid sexually explicit behavior, don't harass people, and don't break things or otherwise spoil other people's fun.

Witch Hunting

Don't witch hunt by naming specific players in a negative light.

Example: "[PlayerName] is cheating in paintball!"

If you need to draw our attention to a player who is violating the Code of Conduct, please use the in-game reporting system, or, for more serious offenses, fill out a ticket. See this page for how to report players via a ticket: I need to report another player

Promoting Leaks / Hacks / Exploits

Don't promote or encourage game-breaking glitches, hacks or exploits. Harmless stuff like crazy dart physics is fine. Also do not spread leaks, or post Rec Room content like new features or avatar items that have not been officially revealed. Use your judgement, and listen to us when we provide feedback on what's cool and what's not.

Spamming

Don't flood or spam the forums. Especially general chat channels in Discord. This can drive people crazy with too many notifications, and reduces our ability to respond to you. Please go easy on the ALL CAPS too.

Impersonating Dev / Mod / Authority Figure

No impersonating devs, moderators, or other authority figures. It's important that players understand when information is coming from us, so please don't muddy the waters by pretending to be us, a moderator, or authority figure.

Off Topic

Stay on-topic. We provide these forums to discuss Rec Room with you, so let's focus on that. Occasional digressions are fine. But there's a limit. There are plenty of places on the internet for arguing about [whatever]. Our forums aren't one of them!

Low-Effort Posting

Don’t post low effort content. For memes this is mostly in regards to image macros.

A meme that doesn’t have Rec Room on it, but correlates very strongly to Rec Room is fine.

Do remember that a meme or post that makes fun of specific users in a mean way is not welcomed here.

As for regular posts, we do not allow "Rate my Outfit" posts. We may add more examples here depending on community sentiment.

Post Title/Flair Guidelines

First, all memes MUST be flaired as such. Memes without a flair will be removed.

Please follow these guidelines below when making a title for your post.

Titles should be descriptive and relevant to the post
Link posts must be posted as links, not a link buried within a text post.

Any post that breaks these points are subject to removal.

No Excessive Self Promotion

Please keep self promotion to 10% or less of your posts.

For everyone 10 posts or comments you leave, only 1 post can be self promotion. This applies to sharing your YouTube content, offering commissions, etc.

Excessive self promotion may be removed, with increasing penalties for repeat offenders.
