Be kind

• Be nice and follow proper reddiquette.

• Avoid from making insults or being excessively rude to another user. You will be banned for such behaviour.

Stay On-Topic

• All posts and comments here must be feature or be related in some way to Cacti: plants in the family Cactaceae.

• Euphorbias (which are not true cacti), and other plants should go to r/Euphorbiaceae.

• Posts and comments not relating to cacti will be removed. Don't defeat this subreddits purpose.

No Poaching

• Poaching is the act of removing a plant from it's natural habitat, this is especially illegal if the species is endangered / rare.

• If a plant is growing on someone's property, consider asking the owner about it. People are more then willing to give a cutting away.

• Posts that show clear evidence of poaching will result in a permanent ban, no exceptions.

No posts regarding the entheogenic or spiritual uses of cacti

• Please direct to r/DrugGardening for discussions like this.

Don't Spam

• Spam bots (including those who submit AI-generated images), will be permanently banned without warning.

Engage in Helping out other users

• While completely optional, use your current cacti knowledge and engage in helping out other users of the subreddit.

• Each week we get hundreds of posts asking for advice, whether it'd be ID Requests, Tips, Questions, Identifying Plant Diseases and more. Some of these get solved, but some do not. So, if you feel like you can help out - please don't hesitate to.

Rule for ID Requests

• Download apps like PlantNet and see if there are any matches to the plant(s) in your photo before submitting an ID Request.

• When submitting a post, please make sure that there are several photos taken from different angles for a better viewing.

• Include a precise Geographic location in the title or comments!
