Post and Comment Requirements

To make posts on r/gtaonline you need the following:

A Reddit account at least 1 day old.
A verified email address.
At least 2 post karma to post.
At least 0 comment karma to comment.
No more than 2 posts per 4 hours

Maintain Relevance, and No Inappropriate Content, or Solicitation

All submissions must be related to GTA Online only. Memes must primarily consist of GTA Online related assets embedded within the image. Real-life posts must include some asset from GTA Online.

Depiction of crime, sexual content, injury, or death in real-life is not allowed.
Discussion of controversial real-life figures or topics is not allowed.

Any interaction involving real money, or other goods and services with monetary value is prohibited.

No Bigotry, Disrespectful Conduct, Witch Hunting, Brigading, or Doxing

Bigotry of any kind, and offensive conduct are not allowed. Disrespectful conduct, like insulting, bullying, harassment, starting or engaging in fights, is not allowed. Insults towards players shown with name in posts are not allowed.

Calling out a person or group, or inciting action against them is considered witch hunting or brigading and is not allowed. Posts about other players must have their names covered. Sharing someone's personal information is doxing and is not allowed.

Use Appropriate Post Titles, Post Flairs, and Content Tags

All posts should have a descriptive title. Video and image posts reporting bugs or asking questions must have a descriptive title.

All post must have an appropriate flair and the content tags set correctly, using the Post Flair and Content Tag Guide for reference.

No Repetitive Posts, Low Effort Posts, A.I.-Generated Content, or Reposts

Posts that harp on the same thing or do not lead to any meaningful discussion or engagement are considered to be repetitive or lacking effort and are not allowed.

Posts or comments generated by or with the assistance of A.I. are not allowed.

Reposting your own post or someone else's post is not allowed.

Restricted Discussion, and No Promotion, Admittance, or Showcase of Cheating

Posts or comments discussing, promoting, admitting, or showcasing cheating - mods, hacks, glitches, exploits - are not allowed.

Purely cosmetic glitches and entertaining glitches, movement skill exploits, and other insignificant glitches and exploits, as well as mentions of cheating in comments, without advocating for it, will be reviewed and allowed if appropriate.

Links to cheating sites and cheating tutorials are not allowed.

No Looking for Players or Activities, Groups or Group Members, or Vehicle Trade

Posts looking for players to join up with for any activities, getting together in a Crew or other type of community, or trading vehicles are not allowed.

Please use our Crew or Discord, or LFP/G-dedicated partners instead, to find players to play with or communities to join.

No Self Promotion, Off-Site Links, or Off-Site Videos

Self promotion, including telling people to visit, or linking your communities or off-site content, or showcasing content from other platforms, is not allowed.

Linking to videos off site - YouTube, Instagram, Facebook etc. - instead of directly uploading them to Reddit, and uploading videos with markings from off-site platforms are not allowed.

Off-site links are not allowed, except for official Rockstar Games sites, select informational sites for GTA Online, and our partner communities.

No Simple or Frequently Asked Questions, or Common or Unsolvable Bug Inquiries or Reports.

Questions that are simple, or have been posted recently or often already are not allowed. Such questions will be redirected to the Simple or Frequently Asked Questions Thread.

Posts about bugs that have been covered recently or often, or can only be solved through Rockstar Support are not allowed.

Posts directed at Rockstar Games are not allowed.

No Improperly Captured Images or Videos

Image and video submissions must be captured using either R* Editor footage, built-in console recording software, and or third party capture cards. Posts with improper screen captures with focus off-screen will be reviewed and allowed if appropriate.

Survey Guidelines

Surveys must be sent to Mod Mail before posting, so it can be reviewed by the moderators.

Any surveys posted must be anonymous and may not ask for personal information that would lead back to anyone outside of Reddit.

Moderator Discretion and Proper Moderator Contact

The rules are enforced according to their spirit rather than letter, and moderators reserve the right to amend the rules if needed, in case of issues that weren't initially considered.

Reposting previously removed content, or posting about moderation related topics is not allowed, as appeals and other inquiries about moderation must be made through Mod Mail.

Flaming moderators, and out of line messages are not tolerated.
