Link Directly to a Single Image

Please do not post clickbait, buzz-feed lists, and top x links. Content from the chumbox is not welcome here. Link directly to a single image of your knolled content. Do not link to a gallery of images, do not link to imgur, pick one image and link directly to that image. You may post gallery links in the comments. First time poster? Check out our Knolling Guide (sticky post) before posting.

Post Images Only

Please only post images to r/knolling. If you have an interesting video or similar media of knolling you may post a still image or excerpt and put a link to the media in the comments section.

No Bag/Purse Knolls - Except on Wednesdays

Bag knolls and purse contents are only permitted on What’s In My Bag Wednesdays, starting at 12:00AM EST, until 11:59PM EST. Posts of this type must use the WIMB Wednesday flair and follow all other rules and guidelines of r/knolling (see the sticky post).

No Harassment/Rudeness (Be Welcoming)

Posters must attempt to meet the guidelines of r/knolling as outlined in the sticky post, messy alignment and disorder can be gently discouraged and constructive criticism is appreciated, but users must maintain a welcoming atmosphere. Extreme rudeness and harassment, especially on posts flared as ‘first-time knolling’ will not be tolerated, users will receive a warning and/or a ban for rudeness at the discretion of the moderators.

No Reposting/No X-Posting, No Low Effort Content

Users should only post their own original content. There are some very well popular images of knolled objects and we see these over and over. Users who repost content will have their posts removed. Repeated attempts to circumvent or post unoriginal content could result in a ban from the subreddit.

Low effort, posts (see rule 5) or posts with ‘guessing game’ titles (e.g. guess my job, my star sign, tell me about myself etc.) will be considered spam, and will be removed.

Knolled Content Only

r/knolling is a celebration of arrangement. Knolling is organized items laid out on a surface - at right angles or in parallel lines, in a highly visually pleasing way. A proper knoll should be photographed from an overhead, or bird's-eye angle. Similar object types and functions should often be grouped together or arranged by relatedness or for aesthetics or visual balance. Please refer to the sticky post for more specific guidelines.

No Firearms or Weaponry other NSFW Content must be Flagged

No weapons. No exceptions. Users who attempt to post firearms or weaponry will have their posts removed and will be warned, attempting to circumvent the removal or post again and the user will face a ban.

Other NSFW content (e.g. sex toys, art with nude figures, or body parts) must contain the NSFW tag, and provide a CW (content warning) for the type of NSFW object/content present.
