Is my device capable of connecting via ethernet cable?
Is my device capable of connecting via ethernet cable?

I have being trying to connect my laptop (Lenovo Yoga Slim 7, Windows 11) through an ethernet cable with no success. The device doesn't come with an integrated ethernet port so I have tried 2 different usb-to-ethernet adapters with no luck. From Lenovo, they suggested it might not be capable of doing so, but I could try getting third-party tools to try it.

Here is what appears in my network adapters:
OpenVPN Data Channel Offload / OpenVPN Data Channel Offload #2 / Realtek 8922AE WiFi 7 PCI-E NIC / WAN Miniport (IKEv2) / WAN Miniport (IP) / WAN Miniport (IPv6) /WAN Miniport (L2TP) / WAN Miniport (Network Monitor) / WAN Miniport (PPPOE) / WAN Miniport (PPTP) 7 / WAN Miniport (SSTP) / WireGuard Tunnel / WireGuard Tunnel 8 / WireGuard Tunnel #2

Do you have any suggestions to try and see if it can be achieved?

Edit: Sorry, missed giving exact details on my model:

Yoga Slim 7 14AKP10, Windows 11 Home, AMD rYZEN ai 7350, Integrated GPU

Choosing "Restart" is not the same as "Shut down" and then switch on again?
Solved

Win 11

We got a message from IT that recent problems some of us were having were due to updates not being applied.

The solution seems to be to not shut down the computer at the end of a work day but to choose restart - which they say is not the same as shutting down and switching back on again the next morning.

That seems rather strange to me and if that is indeed the case... is there a way to change this?

Thanks for many great answers.

I need to clarify: The company I work for is very small. For IT we're practically a one man side project of an employee who works at a biggish IT-Support and only took us on because he's a bud of the husband of my boss - so not really a professional IT-Support. When the guy is on vacation it happens that no one from that IT-Support can help us because they don't know the admin passwords.

Hello I am giving my aunt my old laptop for her to have since her PC has stopped working. She is a senior citizen and is very not computer savvy and would like to make sure that she is safe on the internet. The laptop is Auusda Business Laptop Computer and my aunt is most likely just going to use it for youtube, checking emails, and light browsing. Any way I can make a profile that only limits these websites and try to prevent virus/scams? Thanks!
