I thought the same but I realized that most destiny players that were sad about D2 ending hopped on at that time for the final content update vs going to Rising. Funnily enough, now that D2 won’t get any more new content, I wonder if Rising ever did a proper new campaign/DLC (marketed correct as well) if it would gain traction in the Destiny community now that it’s all said and done for D2.
All they had to do was add new content and story campaigns/DLCs just like D1 and D2, but for some reason they thought the base game itself would hold for a long time…because of the amount of content we got in D2 every year, the expectations of content releases in Destiny are high. With the price they paid for the IP, I would think they would know this and act on it.
This. The only campaign “DLC” you can say we ever got was the Wish Calus and Ahamkara campaign. Which wasn’t even marketed as a new story or campaign really, just marketed as “Season 4”. That’s not very convincing if I’m a Destiny player and I’ve never played Rising.
I thought the new campaign was really good actually too. Shame most people don’t even know it exists. If they had just released DLCs and new content like Destiny 1 & 2 did, they could have made an amazing game. I’d still be down for it if they did it, but the way things are looking idk.
