He's an AMAZING partner outside the game, that's why this behaviour in game is so jarring to me.

It's not like I've got nothing in game, I've acquired magic items through trading with other players and looting enemies (I most recently got a deck of many things). It's just when it comes to the DM rewarding everyone I often get nothing.

I didn't know this. I think at the start when we were discussing what types of armour we could all wear my husband/DM established that I couldn't wear shoes and I was all "yeah, makes sense" so I didn't bother questioning it.

I hope it's a case of this.
