That's right. In the case of OG Kal, S2 is better for handling lots of trash mobs since it hits all blocked targets, while s3 is better for killing single tanky enemies since it's single target true damage. In IS, her S2 can also be used as a healing skill, while the S3 is more selfish

Most operators have one skill that's better than the others, some have a second skill that's as good as the first or at least is decent in different situations, and it's very rare to have an operator with three strong skills that are all equally useful

Got it. The new layout shows where different events connect with each other and to main story. If you enter the "score" section where all the stories are, it'll show you a "Main Story" category. Go to the right on this screen and you'll see tiles with all the main story chapters. Sometimes you'll see a little line going up between some of these tiles, like how between ep 11 and ep 12 it has a line going up to purple text. Click on the text the line is leading up to, and it will take you to "What the Firelight Casts", an event that takes place between the two and is meant to be read in between. Keep going and you'll see an event named Babel between ch 13 and 14. Read that one when you finish ch 13 (if you haven't already) and then afterwards go on to 14.

Once you finish arc 2 with ch 14, there's a small interlude "Ending a Grand Overture" after which you can read ch15. There's some stuff you can read between ch 15 and 16, but I don't want to info dump and overwhelm you when you're just getting back in the game. Just read up to ch 15 and ask again afterwards, and depending on how you're feeling we can recommend which stuff to read next.

I might be misunderstanding the question, but why not keep playing from where you left off? Or are you asking for help figuring out which chapter is the last one you read?

For me the biggest issue with controller is that you have to only use the right side of the controller. Left hand is just chilling meanwhile right side is moving the joystick and either pressing square somehow or R2
