I think it is just a tool like anything else honestly.
Prompts are just strings of text, but to say there is no art in their construction would be silly, since authors and poets exist.
Imagine if two people were asked to describe a battle going on over a vast fantasy landscape.
Prompt 1 was written by a sad luddite.
Prompt 2 was written by Tolkien.
Both result in vastly different AI-generated outcomes, some people have a way with words and Tolkien was especially descriptive and verbose. I feel there is some art in prompt engineering.
It is a good example of long time photoshop and mass production to make goods, which have long been deemed acceptable.
But the anti AI crowd is now seeing AI everywhere, even when it is not the case. Now all these posters say they have seen this vendor for years before AI.
Such accusations and brigading are only going to get worse, and this vendor is now your victim. But maybe there is an argument for hand crafted only. Otherwise it seems a rather arbitrary line to draw.
